Billing & Plans

This page helps you manage your subscription, review usage, and control policies that affect how your account behaves when limits are reached. Use this guide to understand each area of the page and what actions you can take. Billing & Plans overview

At a glance

  • Current plan and status: the name of your active plan and a short status badge (for example: Active, Trial, Past Due). The badge gives a quick indication if your subscription is healthy or needs attention.
  • Billing period: the dates for the current billing period are shown so you can tell when your next billing cycle starts and ends.
  • Quick actions: buttons to change plan or open the billing portal (where you can add/update payment details and view hosted billing options).
Tip: If you are on a trial and haven’t added a payment method, the page will show a clear banner with a button to add payment details so your service continues without interruption.

Usage

The Usage section shows three key consumption metrics: Storage, AI queries, and Devices. Each metric includes a numeric readout and a progress bar so you can quickly see how close you are to your plan limits.
  • Storage: shows the amount of data you are currently storing and your plan’s storage limit. The value is presented in human-friendly units (KB/MB/GB).
  • AI Queries: shows how many AI queries you’ve used this period and the limit included in your plan.
  • Devices: shows how many devices are currently registered and your device allowance.
What the progress bars mean
  • The bar fills proportionally to your usage. If the bar is near or over the limit, consider cleaning up old data, reducing query volume, or upgrading your plan.
  • Values are updated periodically; check back if you see a sudden jump—some usage updates may take a moment to appear.

Policies

Policies control what happens when you reach a limit. Each policy is set with a simple dropdown so you can choose the behavior that best fits your needs.
  • Storage Policy
    • Pause Data Collection: stop ingesting new monitored data when storage is full.
    • Overwrite Oldest Data: automatically remove the oldest data to make room for new data.
    • Allow Storage Overages: continue ingesting and be billed for extra usage (this option is disabled on the Free tier).
  • Device Registration Policy
    • Pause New Registrations: block new devices when the device limit is reached.
    • Allow Device Overages: allow additional devices and bill for the extra registrations (disabled on Free tier).
  • AI Queries Policy
    • Pause When Limit Reached: stop processing AI queries once the monthly quota is used up.
    • Allow Queries Overages: continue processing and be billed for extra queries (disabled on Free tier).
Choosing a policy
  • Pause options are conservative and prevent extra charges.
  • Allow overages keep your service uninterrupted but may result in additional charges.
If you switch to the Free plan, the system may automatically enforce the safest options (pause behaviors) to prevent unexpected charges. You will see notifications when such changes have been applied.

Next Invoice and Charges

The Next Invoice area shows the amount you will be charged at the next billing date. When available, you can open an invoice breakdown to see line items, discounts, taxes, and the due date.
  • If the system is still calculating estimated usage, you may see a “calculating…” message for a short time.
  • Click the invoice amount to expand a detailed breakdown of upcoming charges.
Tip: If you have scheduled changes to your subscription (for example, upgrading or downgrading on a future date), the page will show the scheduled plan and the effective date.

Actions you can take

  • Change Plan: opens the in-app flow to switch plans. Scheduled changes (if chosen) will be applied at the selected future date.
  • Manage Subscription / Add payment details: opens the billing portal where you can update payment methods, view invoices, and manage subscriptions.
  • Update Policies: from the page you can change how storage, devices, and AI queries behave when you hit limits.
When to use each action
  • Choose “Pause” policy if you want to avoid unexpected charges.
  • Choose “Allow overages” if continuity of service is more important than avoiding extra billing.

Status badges explained

  • Active / Trial: subscription is active or in trial; if a trial doesn’t have a payment method, the page will remind you to add one.
  • Past Due / Unpaid: there may be an issue with your payment method—open the billing portal to update payment details.
  • Cancelled: the subscription is cancelled or will not renew at the end of the period.

Common questions

  • Q: Why is the Allow Overages option disabled?
    • A: The Free plan disables overages to prevent accidental billing. Upgrade to a paid plan to enable overages.
  • Q: I changed a policy but it doesn’t look applied yet—what do I do?
    • A: Policy changes are applied immediately, but some usage displays might take a minute to refresh. Try refreshing the page or wait a short while.
  • Q: Where can I see past invoices?
    • A: Use the Manage Subscription link to open the billing portal which contains your invoice history and payment receipts.

Troubleshooting

  • If your billing portal link doesn’t open: check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, contact support with a screenshot of the error banner.
  • If the usage shown looks incorrect: wait a few minutes and refresh—usage metrics are periodically updated. If numbers remain off, contact support and include the date range and the metric that looks wrong.

Where to get help

If you still need assistance, open a support request from the app or contact your account manager. Include a screenshot of the page and the approximate time when you saw the issue to help us investigate faster.

Quick tips

  • Keep one conservative policy (Pause) on at least one of Storage or Devices if you need to strictly control costs.
  • Use the invoice breakdown to spot one-off charges or prorations when you change plans mid-period.
